We are ringing in 2024 with a celebratory commentary of Ghostbusters 2 and an amazing panel of 4 guests! Tom Henry and Matt Sanders of The Containment Unit / TCU Collectibles & Toys bring a wealth of knowledge from their interviews with a number of Ghostbusters 2 cast and effects crew members. And along with them is Derek Osborn, who served as an editor and producer on the Ghostbusters documentary film Cleaning Up the Town and who is currently working on the Ghostbusters 2 documentary, Too Hot To Handle. And last but not least, Craig Goldberg of Yes Have Some Podcast rounds out the panel, bringing a wealth of wit and Ghostbusters knowledge! Pro-Tips for syncing the movie, commentary, and Midnight (local time):
To listen along with the movie, line your copy of Ghostbusters up to the black frame just before the Columbia logo. Then click play at the appropriate audio cue in the episode (listen for the countdown at 30:20 in the episode).
If you want to listen to the entire podcast and watch the movie such that it’s all synced up with the Ghostbusters arriving through the roof of the museum and Venkman saying “Happy New Year” before the final battle with Vigo, you’ll want to start the podcast at 9:57:26 in your local time, and then start the movie at 10:27:53 (or listen for the audio cue within the podcast).
If you want to skip past headlines and hear the commentary guest intro and preamble, skip to 20:05 and then start the movie along with the audio countdown that begins at 30:20. If you want to sync the movie with the arrival of midnight, start the podcast at the 20:05 mark when your clock reaches 10:17:31.
If you want to jump right to the commentary itself without headlines or intros/preamble, line up your copy of Ghostbusters 2 with the black frame before the Columbia logo, jump to 30:20 for the (roughly) 5 second countdown, and hit play on cue. If you’re trying to sync with the arrival of Midnight in your local time, start the movie and the commentary at 10:27:53.

Extraplasm took a field trip to attend a benefit screening of Ghostbusters Answer the Call along with a Q&A and cocktail hour hosted by none other than director Paul Feig and his co-writer Katie Dippold! This exciting event was a benefit for the Good Deed Corps - a 501c3 non profit whose important work serves to foster ballot access, voter registration and democratic engagement with underrepresented communities. Get caught up on the week's headlines and then join Jim and Leah (theater and comedy teacher and the First Lady of Extraplasm) as they recap the event!
